To maintain and control all the production steps is fundamental to obtain the highest quality.
The different production phases/steps are:
1. The collection of empty cartridges: SAPI has in place an extremely good collection system. This, together with the work of a group of experts, allows to keep a stock of quality and uniform products: every used cartridge is stored by model and characteristics. In this way the empty cartridges are standardised; the available stock of used cartridges is always kept above 100,000 pieces to give SAPI the maximum flexibility to meet customer requirements.
2. Setting/Tweak of the product: the tweak of the product is the heart of the system. Sapi establishes which components or parts need to be replaced and with which type of product. Sapi needs to research the best combination of toner powder and photo sensitive drum (OPC) that can give the best results. A laboratory with a microscope, electronic scales, densitometers and expert technicians set the product.
3. Production: The cartridge is completely disassembled, cleaned of any remaining toner, cut to enable the fitting of an air tight toner seal, refilled with the corresponding toner, sealed, worn or broken parts are replaced with new proven and tested products. The suppliers with whom Sapi has developed a strong relationship include Mitsubishi, Fuji, Sun Chemical and Imex.
4. Testing: To supply a high quality product with a defect rate of less than 1%, all Sapi cartridges follow a printing test that verifies the functionality of all the components of the cartridge.
5. Packing: All the cartridges are clearly labelled with the name of the model or type; the cartridges are protected by an inner box and then inserted into a protective outer box. To minimize the damage during the transportation, SAPI has introduced some air filled bags that fully protect the cartridges. These “air bags” meet the specification of the STA (Safe Transit Association).
6. Warehousing and logistics: SAPI has a warehouse for finished products, which allows its customers to use the same service they would expect for OEm products.
